Politics

Partially because I hate quarrelling, and partially because I tend to have strong beliefs and find it hard to compromise, I've pretty much stayed out of partisan politics. As I grow older, though, I've become increasingly convinced that staying out politics because I'm squeamish makes as much sense as not cleaning my toilet because I don't like dirt. <wry grin>

I'm not a member of any political party. Depending on the issue, I may be more in sympathy with the Republicans, the Democrats, or the Libertarians. In some cases, I think they're all off base. ;> Here are some links I've found useful, though:

Political parody and humor are among the finer developments of the human spirit. They allow us to extract at least some good from the bad, or (perhaps worse) boring reality of the political process.

The Billboard Liberation Front: Truth in advertising becomes a radical political issue with a number of hysterically funny, often illegal and (one hopes) tongue-in-cheek suggestions for those who hate this form of rural blight.
The Capitol Steps: Web page of a group of comedians and singers who roast every prominent figure in Washington D.C., the U.S. Capitol.
The Whirled Bank Group: A parody of every cruel, stupid, unethical or breathtakingly greedy World Bank/International Monetary Foundation policy or practice of the last twenty years.
